Avril Lavigne has denied rumors she snubbed an award at a recent ceremony, saying she didn’t acknowledge it. The singer was believed to attend Canada's annual Napanee Multicultural Festival in her home town of Napanee on Saturday (June 20). But she never showed up. She posted a note on her MySpace, "Avril was not committed to attend the Napanee Ontario Multicultural Festival. Her management had no knowledge of this event.” It follows, "She appreciates the honor, however to say that she 'flaked and didn't show up' is completely untrue, as she had no knowledge of this event whatsoever. Avril is currently in the U.S. working on her 4th album."
Avril Lavigne hasn’t collaborated with Lil Wayne, contrary to reports circulating. Several sites were talking about a duet between the punk princess and the New Orleans rapper but a spokesperson for the Canadian denied the collaboration. “Avril did not collaborate with Lil Wayne,” her label representative told The Canadian Press.

Avril Lavigne has once again fueled rumors her marriage is on the rocks after she was spotted getting cozy with another man. The Girlfriend star was caught getting personal with Brandon Davis at LA nightclub MyHouse on Friday (May 8). Brandon is known as a close friend of Avril and hotel heiress Paris Hilton. He previously dated actress Mischa Barton. Avril’s husband, Deryck Whibley was also seen at the same place earlier that evening and when asked about his wife, he kept mum. Although the couple has been a target of numerous cheating reports, they both have denied the stories.
Avril Laving will represent her native Canada as an ambassador at China's World expo in 2010. The Ontario-born singer has many fans in Asia and has even recorded parts of her songs in Mandarin. "On Friday I was in Vancouver and honored as the Canadian Ambassador for 2010 World Expo, Shanghai, China," she wrote on her MySpace. "It's really exciting as it's the first time China has ever hosted World Expo and the theme is Better City, Better Life. It's really cool that over 200 countries and international organizations are coming together at World Expo, Shanghai to create a better future for the world. I've played two shows in Shanghai. It's a great city and I look forward to visiting again next year," the 24-year-old added.
