Avril Lavigne confesses her LA gothic mansion is too big for her and gets scary sometimes. The Canadian songstress moved to her huge house in Bel Air last year and she has transformed it into a "medieval gothic castle, European-style". In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the 24-year star says, "(There are) chandeliers and red velvet curtains. My bedroom is pink and black, my bathroom is totally Hello Kitty, I have a massive pink couch and a big antique gold cross." She adds, "I'm not gonna lie, it's 12,000 square feet. It's so big it scares me."
Avril Lavigne will get married again someday. The Canadian songstress split from husband Deryck Whibley in July last year and is currently dating TV star Brody Jenner. “It's all about love and I make that my number one priority,” admitted the 26-year-old. “One day I would hope to have kids and do that whole thing. Right now I'm very focused on my career, my album, my tour and naturally when that happens for me next, yeah I'll go for it”, she added.
Avril Lavigne talks about her ex-husband’s help on her new album Goodbye Lullaby. The singer, who is currently dating Brody Jenner, spoke out with MTV about the frontman of Sum 41, Deryck Whibley, “I respect Deryck so much as an artist, and he produced several songs on this record. I mean, he's in a really cool band, he's a writer and he's a rocker.” The Canadian says she has learnt to think in her own welfare instead of pleasing others. "At this point, because I've been doing this for 10 years, I've kind of learned ... my life lesson has been about not worrying about people and what they think."Obviously I care. I want people to like my music and stuff. I've had to learn to really focus on myself: who I am, what I want."
Avril Lavigne is upset with Christina Aguilera, who reportedly snubbed the Girlfriend star at the Brit Awards recently. Avril explains why she prefers Boy George over the Dirtty singer. "He (Boy George) was stood behind us... and I decided to walk over. I'm a very shy person... He was super nice, unlike Christina Aguilera, who was really mean to me when I said hi to her. You know what, I said to my friends, 'I'm gonna go over to Boy George and hopefully he won't pull a Christina on me.” She followed, “I remember going over... and introducing myself and saying, 'Hi, we kinda do the same thing,' but I just kind of got (an ignorant laugh)."
Avril Lavigne has a hectic schedule that leaves her little time to do her hobbies. But the 'Sk8er Boi' star makes some space for her passion, skateboarding in her garage. She reveals, “I sometimes skateboard at my house. This might sound really strange and bizarre, but I skateboard in my garage.” The 26-year-old singer likes similar hobbies like surfing. She says, “I've started surfboarding a little bit. Surfboarding is like skateboarding, only there's a longer board.”
Avril Lavigne showed off her lingerie in her music video for What The Hell. In the clip, the singer struts her stuff in a sexy way while she seduces a male model. The music clip is shot in 3D. She told MTV News, “The music video's in 3-D, and my favorite part of the video is the rock-out scene at the end where I jump on-stage and I'm with my band.” “When we shot it and I got to watch it back in 3-D with the glasses and actually you can see the crowd's hands, and it felt like you were live in a crowd, so it was kind of cool.” Her upcoming work, Goodbye Lullaby is due out on March 8.
